If you answered yes to any of those questions, get ready to enlist with the All In Sports Fitness Boot Camp. Whether you’re an avid athlete or a fitness first-timer, the amp provides exactly the push you need to reach your ultimate health and fitness goals. Our unique programs combine co-ed outdoor workouts, a nutrition regimen and constant accountability in order to challenge – and surpass -- the boundaries of every boot camper’s comfort zone. The results are life-changing: a fit, toned body, increased self-confidence, and improved strength and endurance, not to mention new friendships made along the way. 2008 New Year CAMP STARTING DATE: January 13th Sunday 6:30pm-7:30 (PM class only this session). Let’s Talk About BEEF – HCCW Seeking Candidates for the Texas Beef Ambassador Speech Competition: The chance to compete for $3,000 and the title of Texas Beef Ambassador is in store for the 2008 Texas Beef Ambassador Competition, March 15, 2008, in Corpus Christi. Hill Country CattleWomen is seeking candidates to represent our area in the state competition. Open to all youth between the ages of 17 to 20, but not over 20 as of Jan. 1, 2009, contestants are asked to deliver a five to eight minute speech pertaining to the positive aspects of beef consumption and the beef industry to promote the nutritional, economic, environmental and versatile uses of beef. Resource materials for the speech are available. Top winners will receive prize money, while the first place winner will also represent the state at various speaking engagements during the year and at the National Contest held in the fall of 2008. Hill Country contestants will represent our area at various Hill Country events throughout the year. The deadline to enter is February 1, 2008. Sun, Feb 10, Father/Daughter Valentine's Dance: @ the Pedernales Electric Cooperative's Headquarter Auditorium in Johnson City from 5:30 till 8:30. The evening will be an alcohol-free, tobacco-free evening with activities and dancing for fifth grade and younger girls and their fathers. The admission cost is $10 per father. All profits will benefit the American Cancer Society. This event is sponsored by Blanco County Relay For Life team "Night Pray-ers". U.S. Bureau of the Census: More than 4 million American businesses, including 130 businesses in Blanco County, will receive 2007 Economic Census forms. Businesses that do not receive a form (typically very small) are not required to do anything, but those businesses that receive a form are required by law (Title 13, U.S. Code) to complete and return it. The due date is February 12, 2008.

Johnson City Wildflower Festival: Chamber plans are underway for this annual event to be held the weekend of April 19 & 20. Johnson City Lavender Evenings With Art & Music: Chamber plans are also underway for this annual event to be held the weekend of June 13-15. The Chamber will produce this event this year and Chairperson is Leandy Pletcher, 868-0984, leandy@pletchernet.com; Volunteers and sponsors are needed.
